Nice surprise when validating the Dicty protocol in Kortholt lab !

Dicty cells (AX2) respond quickly to folic acid, move fast through the mazes, and reach the end reservoir within 1,5 hours!  This recording was performed using the materials and microscopes that every team will receive for the Race.  This particular movie is assembled @ 1 frame per minute, played with 6 frames per second, total length 4 hours. AX2-strain cells were harvested from a bacterial lawn. Chemotaxis towards 1 uM folic-acid in 10 mM phosphate-buffer (pH adjusted to 6.5).  Credits:  Cell Biochemistry Groningen (Marjon Kamp and Ineke Keizer).
